Privacy Policy
The CyberSecure Teaching project is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data Controller
Jamk University of Applied Sciences acts as the coordinator for the CyberSecure Teaching project and is the primary data controller for this website.
2. What Data We Collect
We may collect and process the following data:
- Contact Information: If you contact us via email, we will process your email address and any other information you provide.
- Newsletter Data: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect and store your email address securely in our database to send you the requested updates.
- Usage Data: We may collect non-personally identifiable information about how you interact with our website to improve our services, teaching resources, and content.
- Third-party Integrations: Our website embeds widgets such as a Facebook social feed. Third parties like Facebook may collect data according to their own privacy policies when you interact with these widgets.
- Survey Data: If you participate in our survey, we will store the answers you provide, the time of your participation, and the language you selected for the survey. We do not collect or store any other data in the survey, and in particular we do not ask for information such as your age, gender, place of residence, or similar personal details.
- The survey data is stored on a server operated by the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten in Austria and physically located on its premises. It is technically not possible to connect survey answers with any activities on the CyberSecure Teaching website, such as subscribing to a newsletter or interacting with other website content.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely for the purposes of the CyberSecure Teaching project, such as responding to
inquiries, providing project updates (including our newsletter), managing the European Community of Practice, and organizing our
international Summer Schools (2027 in Portugal & 2028 in Finland).
We do not use personal data or survey data for commercial purposes, and we have no financial interest in selling, renting, or otherwise commercially exploiting such data.
Survey answers are processed for the purpose of analysing needs, gaps, practices, and expectations related to cybersecurity, cyber awareness, and cyber hygiene in education. Individual survey answers will be processed only by selected members of the project team and will not be shared with third parties.
Statistical analyses of the survey data will always be presented only in aggregated form, referring to larger groups of responses and without the possibility of identifying individual answers. Such aggregated statistical results may be submitted to the European Union in the form of project reports and may be published on the project website. Project staff may also use the aggregated data as a source for scientific publications.
Personal data collected through contact forms or email communication will be retained only as long as
necessary for handling the inquiry and fulfilling project-related purposes, unless a longer retention period
is required by law or EU project reporting obligations.
The processing of personal data is based on legitimate interest, consent, or legal obligations related to
EU-funded project administration.
4. Data Sharing and Transfer
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. Data may be shared among the CyberSecure Teaching
consortium partners across Europe (Finland, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Czech Republic) solely for
project-related purposes. As the project is co-funded by the European Union, certain aggregated and anonymized
data might be shared with EU institutions for reporting and evaluation purposes.
Individual survey answers will not be disclosed to third parties. Only aggregated statistical analyses that do not allow conclusions to be drawn about individual answers may be shared with EU institutions, published on the project website, or used in scientific publications.
Some third-party services (such as Facebook) may transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) in
accordance with their own data protection practices and applicable safeguards.
5. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, as well as the right to
restrict or object to its processing. To exercise these rights, please contact us at info@cybersecureteaching.eu.
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, you can withdraw your consent at any time by visiting our Unsubscribe page.
